Geely-owned Volvo Car Group said on Sunday it had begun production of its best-selling XC60 crossover at its plant in Chengdu, taking a further step toward supplying locally-produced cars in China as well as opening the door to overseas exports.

Japan to set energy policy but "no stance" on nuclear: minister
Japan is scheduled to set national energy policy early next week, Economics Minister Motohisa Furukawa said on Tuesday, although he said the government had not taken any particular position on the main question over the role of nuclear power.

Japan's Skylark IPO pricing weak but Recruit more upbeat

Tokyo has seen a string of weak IPO performances this year after last year's euphoria over Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's growth policies gave way to more measured views, while a sales tax hike in April has also weighed on the economy.
